Short (and very sweet)

I just found this meme over at another blog I frequent, and thought I would join in. I am slightly embarrassed to say that I have never participated in a meme other than Bloggy Giveaways. Simple and lazy--that is me. :-)

So, to turn over a new blogging leaf, here is my story of "the crazy way" that my dear husband and I first met....

We attended the same Christian college for 4 years before we actually spoke to each other. Because we ran in VERY different circles of friends, our paths never chanced to cross. Until one day during my (1st) senior year--yes, it took me 5 years to finish college--when I happened to sit at the same table as him for lunch.

That day, I had decided to make a hair appt. and get my hair chopped right above my shoulders. This was a big step for me, and I was slightly nervous about the outcome. But as you women know, a new haircut can make you feel like a new person. Being the "new woman" that I was, I tromped into the dining hall at a different time than I normally ate lunch and plopped myself down at the table where all of the dorm supervisors sat and ate. (Let me explain this move......because I was older at this point, all of my friends had already graduated and fled campus. Therefore I was destined to hang out with the only people left on campus....my dorm sup and her friends. It was a slightly awkward situation, but I was old enough and mature enough to handle the oddness. :-)

Anyways, back to the love story......my husband (being a dorm sup at the time) of course came in to eat lunch with his friends at this hour of the day. And there I was, in all of my newly shorn splendor, sitting at the table eating lunch. At this point, most males would not have cared in the least that a girl with short hair was sitting in their proximity (even one as charmingly witty and adorable as myself!). But thankfully--and all because of the Lord--my husband happens to be one of the minority that likes short hair better than long! And because of that, he suddenly noticed little me, who had been around campus all of these years, and found me irresistibly attractive. :-)

And that was the crazy way that God brought us together. Of course, there is much more to our story than this, but it will have to wait until another day. (I know you will all be on pins and needles until then--ha!) But you will just have to contain yourselves....
