We visited Focus on the Family.....what a great kids' area they have there! It was a beautiful facility--we explored the kids' play areas, watched a matinee of Veggie Tales or something, ate in the Whit's End soda shoppe and then checked out the bookstore. It was so fun pouring over hundreds of Christian books and CDs. We chose a few, and headed back for naps. I didn't get any pictures there due to a problem with the camera batteries. (I will not say what the problem was because it will make me look foolish. I will just say you should always know which way the batteries should be put into your camera......)
Then we went to the Flying W Ranch for dinner. My husband was dying to take the kids there.....he had gone in his younger years. It was a rainy evening but stopped drizzling while we walked around. The dinner was interesting, trying to get 3 kids under the age of 6 to sit at a picnic table surrounded by hundreds of other people. We did it though! Unfortunately we did not make it through the entire cowboy concert. The kids had had it by 8:30. :-(
Swam alot, watched some Jon and Kate +8 :-), and enjoyed the huge breakfasts.
Then we took the scenic route on the way home. God has created some beautiful things.....I was in awe the whole drive! The kids could have cared less at that point, but Daddy and I enjoyed it. (They were in awe of the DVD that I brought along for them to watch.)
It was a nice reprieve before the busiest part of our year begins. We won't see much of Daddy now until December.....
